Our New Construction Process

Step 1: Plan Review and Estimate

We look at your building plans. We count outlets, lights, and circuits. We figure out what your electrical panel needs. Then we give you a clear price. No surprises.

Step 2: Temporary Power Setup

Your builder needs power during construction. We set up a temporary service panel. This gives power for tools and equipment while you build.

Step 3: Rough-In Electrical

After framing is done, we install all the electrical boxes. We run all the wires through the walls. We install your main panel. Everything gets labeled. We take pictures before the drywall goes up. Then the inspector checks our work.

Step 4: Service Connection

We coordinate with your power company. They connect your meter. Now your home has permanent power. We test everything to make sure it works right.

Step 5: Finish Electrical

After painting is done, we come back. We install all outlets and switches. We hang light fixtures. We put on cover plates. We test every circuit. Then we schedule the final inspection.

Step 6: Final Walkthrough

We walk through with you. We show you where everything is. We explain your electrical panel. We answer your questions. We make sure you're happy with everything.

Master Electrician Expertise

Kevin Braun has been a Master Electrician for years. He's wired hundreds of new homes. He knows what works. He knows what doesn't. Your new home gets the benefit of 25+ years of experience.

We Work Well with Builders

Building a home takes teamwork. We show up when we say we will. We work clean. We don't hold up other trades. Builders like working with us because we make their job easier.

We Pass Inspection Every Time

Electrical inspections can delay your build. Our work always passes. We know what inspectors look for. We do it right the first time. No delays. No stress.

We Serve Eastern Colorado

Many electricians won't travel east. We do. We regularly build homes in Calhan, Ramah, Simla, and Matheson. If you're building in eastern El Paso County or Elbert County, we'll be there.

Fair Pricing

We give detailed estimates. You know what you're paying upfront. If something changes, we talk to you first. No surprise bills. That's how we do business.

What We Include in New Construction

Main Electrical Panel

We size your panel correctly. Most new homes need 200-amp service. Some need more. We figure out what you need based on your home size and appliances.

All Outlets and Switches

We install outlets where you need them. Code requires certain spacing. We meet code and add extras where they make sense. Same with light switches.

Lighting Circuits

We wire for all your lights. Recessed lights, ceiling fixtures, exterior lights. We create lighting zones so you have control.

Kitchen and Appliances

Kitchens need special circuits. Your range needs 240V power. Your refrigerator needs its own circuit. So does your microwave. We install everything your kitchen needs.

HVAC Circuits

Your heating and cooling needs proper circuits. We coordinate with your HVAC installer. We make sure everything is wired correctly.

Garage and Shop

Garages need plenty of outlets. We install circuits for door openers, tools, and equipment. If you want 240V in your garage, we plan for that.

Outdoor Outlets and Lights

Exterior outlets need GFCI protection. We install weatherproof outlets where you need them. We wire exterior lights and motion sensors.

Smart Home Prep

Want smart switches later? We install neutral wires now. This makes adding smart home features much easier down the road.

Common Questions About New Construction Electrical

How much does electrical cost for a new home?

Every home is different. A basic 1,500 square foot home might cost $8,000-$12,000 for electrical. Larger homes with more features cost more. We give you an exact price after looking at your plans.

When do you start the electrical work?

We start rough-in after framing is done. The walls need to be open. We finish after drywall and painting are complete. Your builder will tell us when each phase should happen.

Do I need to upgrade to 400-amp service?

Most homes do fine with 200-amp service. Very large homes might need 400-amp. Homes with lots of electric heat might need it. We'll tell you what your home actually needs.

Can you wire for a generator during construction?

Yes. This is the best time to add generator prep. We install the transfer switch and wiring while walls are open. Much easier than adding it later.

What if I want to change something during construction?

Changes happen. That's normal. Just talk to us before we do the work. We can move outlets, add circuits, or change lighting. It's much harder to change things after drywall goes up.

Do you work with custom home builders?

Yes. We work with custom builders and spec builders. We also work directly with homeowners who are building their own homes. We're flexible.

Can you handle commercial construction too?

Yes. We do light commercial work. Offices, shops, small retail buildings. If it's a large commercial project, we'll let you know upfront if it's too big for us.

What happens if the inspection fails?

Our work passes inspection. But if something does come up, we fix it immediately at no charge. We stand behind our work.

Special Features We Can Add

Whole-Home Generator Prep

Installing a generator after your home is built costs more. We can rough in the wiring and transfer switch during construction. Then adding the generator later is simple.

EV Charger Circuits

Planning to buy an electric car? We can install a 240V circuit in your garage now. Much easier than running it through finished walls later.

Hot Tub or Pool Circuits

Hot tubs need dedicated 240V circuits with GFCI protection. Pools need special electrical. We can rough in these circuits even if you're not ready to install yet.

RV Plug

Many eastern Colorado homes have RV parking. We can install a 50-amp RV outlet. Great for keeping your RV plugged in at home.

Shop Wiring

Building a shop or large garage? We install plenty of outlets and 240V circuits for tools. LED lighting makes shops bright and efficient.

Security System Prep
